GUIDANCE ON VISAS

General Information

Participants who arrive in Republic of Korea must have a passport or valid identity document. You should choose the most appropriate visa category for your application. For most updated and accurate information,
please refer to the Korean Embassies and Consulates in the residential country.

If an invitation letter is needed for the visa application, you are advised to firstly complete registration. You will then find a request form at the top of the page. Please fill in and send it to UNESCO International Forum on the Futures of Education Secretariat (secretariat@futuresedu2024.kr).

Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA)

Following the implementation of K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) from September 1, 2021, nationals of countries/regions, who were eligible for visa-free entry, now need to obtain K-ETA approval in advance in order to board the flight or ship bound for the Republic of Korea. K-ETA authorization is generally valid for multiple trips over a period of two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

However, K-ETA will be temporarily exempted to the 22 countries/regions listed below starting from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, as part of a plan to support the revitalization of the tourism industry in relation to commemorating Visit Korea 「 Year (2023 ~ 2024)」

Note

K-ETA is mandatory for nationals of countries/regions, where visa-free entry is available. Nationals of K-ETA eligible countries should apply for K-ETA through K-ETA website or Mobile App (K-ETA).
*K-ETA approval does not guarantee entry to Korea.
*K-ETA approval will be refused in any case of submitting false or inaccurate information.
