Futures of Education Report

In November 2021, UNESCO published a report titled "Reimagining Our Future Together: A New Social Contract for Education," with its Korean translation released in 2022.

This report is the third major education report from UNESCO, following the Faure Report (1972) and the Delors Report (1996), both of which have been pivotal in international education discourse. Reimagining Our Future Together emphasizes the urgent need to transform existing educational systems—developed during the 19th-century industrial revolution, including school models, curricula, and teaching methods—to effectively address global challenges such as the climate crisis and deepening social inequalities. The report underscores the critical role of education in fostering a sustainable future for both humanity and the planet and advocates for the necessity of educational transformation.

According to the report, the international community must establish a new social contract for education based on a shared vision. This social contract should adhere to two fundamental principles.
- Assuring  the  right  to  quality  education  throughout  life
- strengthening education as a public endeavour and a common good
